The Birth of the Raven School of Dance
The Raven School of Dance was an idea of a few Benedictine College students.  After living in Atchison for school they realized there were no facilities in Atchison where children could take dance classes. With their strong dance backgrounds and love for dance, they decided to rectify this situation—by opening their own studio. Cheri Ann Menk (April 28th, 1989-May 23rd, 2009), principal founder, carried out her dream and opened The Raven School of Dance.
What she started in 2008 as a studio of 50 students, has now grown into nearly 100 students. Although we are sad she is no longer with us, her legacy and passion for dance lives on. We miss Cheri dearly and are so thankful for her dedication to starting this studio.

The Raven School of Dance is an entirely student run business. All of our teachers are members of the Benedictine College Dance Team. In addition to being student athletes, they have the opportunity to grow in their teaching skills as our teachers and invest in your children. Many Raven School of Dance teachers that have graduated from Benedictine now work at studios.Star performer in dance recital

Execution
As our mission states, “Classes will be conducted in a professional manner and will reflect the value of Benedictine College.” As Benedictine College Students, RSD teachers take the college’s values seriously. Consequently, classes will be a safe environment for children to learn dance and have fun.

Production
All dance recitals will be held at Benedictine College.

Conclusion
Through the years of success here at the Raven School of Dance we have seen the benefits it has provided to the Benedictine College community, the Raven Dance Team members,
and the youth of Atchison. It is our pleasure to teach your children.
